with whom can you a p p l y - Any physically published character, meaning someone with a canon you can hold in your hot little hands. - Authors and companies on this list have requested that their works not be used for fandom purposes, so characters from their series cannot be played here. Feel free to blame Anne Rice. If permission is obtained from the authors and/or companies, then party on. - We ♥ guys, girls, and wraththruthingies. All genders and sexuality are welcomed with open arms - The age cut off for characters one can app is twenty-one. When apping, please provide a link to a site (that is not your own) that states or supports the character age you provide on the app. If you cannot find any information regarding the character's age, email all five of the mods with links to the character's canon so we can make an informed decision about whether they are under the age limit or not. - Anyone at age twenty-two and above cannot apply during camper rounds. However, a few times a year, we hold application rounds in which "counselors" may gain access to camp. Stay tuned to the ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/community.gif){kind=small} campersfuckoff community and campfuckudie's userinfo to stay updated for such times.- "Younger versions" of adults (read: no young!Sirius Black, or "flashback" ages) are not allowed unless there is substantial canon for them. If you're iffy on it, ask the mods. - Want to apply for someone that's lived for centuries, but looks and acts like a child? Go for it! WHO DOESN'T LOVE AGE-DEFYING DEMONS. - But! Unfortunately, we do go by appearance age for said long-living characters. If your character appears to be in their mid-twenties, but is only physically five years due to the magical nature of their canon, then they are still considered to be a counselor. On the other hand, if your character is an eighty-five year old demon who appears to be eight — such as the above! — then they are camper appable. If your character falls into this gray area and you are not certain which one they would be, please contact all five mods and ask! - For taken characters, please see our sparkling list. Or this one for counselors. how to a p p l y - We have a big informative post about applications and voting. Please read it! No, really. READ THE VOTING AND APPLICATION FAQ BEFORE APPLYING. While somewhat old, it answers all sorts of questions. Juri sometimes even remembers to update it. - Only apply for one character each round. Not two. Not ten. One. All players are allowed - When sending in your app, either paste the application into the body of the e-mail or attach it as a .txt file or a Google document. Make sure that we can actually read the application — don't innudate it with HTML (br, h, etc etc). - If your application is accepted, you will not be allowed to defer your playing until a more convenient time (vacation weeks, end of the school year, etc.). If you do not currently have the time to play, then please refrain from applying until you do. - Please do not ask us to post your application at a certain time. We understand that people may be out of town over the weekend of apps, and we apologize if you miss being around for yours! However, if we accommodate for one person, it wouldn't be fair to everyone else. Apps will be posted when we are able to post them. - If you send in an application before we've opened the application window time, your email will be DELETED without notice. Make sure you double-check the time and date of the app opening before sending it in! This site is good for checking the time, no matter where you are in the world. - REREAD EVERYTHING WRITTEN ABOVE. Do it. Do it nooooow. - Send a FORMATTED (include all HTML tags) email to lolcampappslol at gmail.com with the subject line "(insert your character's name here)" complete with the following information, exactly (including bold tags!) as it looks below: Your Name/Alias: Age: (be honest. we won't kick you out for being thirteen or eighty-three.) Character: Series: (what show, book, manga, etc.) If you can, supply a link. Character Age: Again, supply a link if your character's age could appear dubious. Canon: Give a brief (BRIEF) character introduction. His goals, her way of speaking, relationships shared with others, whatever. The better you describe (and then represent) how the character appears in canon, the more likely you'll get in. Make sure to describe their personality! Sample Post: Your sample post (with at least one hundred words) is what the rest of the community will be judging you on when they vote to approve you, so make it as IC and funny as possible. You can apply as many times as you want, but be warned: we will not take pity on you. Socruel, we know. Your sample entry will be posted to the community ( campfuckuvote) without your name, followed by a poll. Members will vote either "yes" or "no" in regards to your entry, judging it by its humor, grammar, and style. In order to be accepted into the RP, your "yes" vote must score at least 70% in the poll. You will not be voted on anything beyond the application itself, such as compromised anonymity, placement in rounds, camper/counselor ruling, etc. If any of these situations arise, contact the mods immediately. Keep in mind that your conduct as an apper IS taken into consideration, good and bad, so be smart. MAKE IT AN ACTUAL JOURNAL ENTRY. Like, "I did this, this, and this today," not completely prose. Unless the character is mute; then show the character through the prose. Make it lively. Don't just talk about the zombies (it gets boring to read, fast), talk about how you got here, what you think about the murder, etc. Make it memorable. Be creative! While the minimum is one hundred words, we generally recommend that you write more. For an idea of what we are looking for, please peruse campfuckuvote. |
